I miss the ocean
My most recent series is called I miss the ocean. It consists off four images that I feel when I view the ocean. The ocean, to me, is beautiful but at the same time powerful and mysterious. The paintings have been completed during the Covid-19 lockdown. In South Africa we have had a very strict lockdown, the first six weeks we were not allowed to exercise or walk dogs outside of our homes. We were only allowed to go to the shop’s to get essential goods which were also severely restricted in terms of what we were allowed to purchase. My family enjoy going for a drive over Chapman’s Peak…

Zebra
This Zebra moved around with me partially completed through at least three house moves. The best part is that it is an A4 size, so it is easy to look after and keep in a sleeve. I kept it together with all the original pencils I used to create it. It consists of charcoal, chalk and pastel pencil. I eventually completed it in the middle of 2019 by which time it was about 5 years old and even now it remains behind glass in my personal collection.
